I also wanted to comment that I thought the trident bar was a belt and he was moving it up and down as if to taunt or something.

Yep I agree with Dr D, maybe giving it some horizontal movement along with vertical will make it seem less ambiguous.
It looks nice, but I mistook the grip of his trident as a belt-like thing for a bit.
