I've just viewed this on the new PJ Default grey background and I can now totally understand how odd the back leg looks!
Up to now I've only ever viewed this on a very light background where the colour of the leg looks darker and seems to work.
Agreed Jal, it looks strange, I didn't take all the other backgrounds that others may have into account.
@ ooshmaster.
Yeah it does only move a little bit considering the size of it's legs. I'm learning with every pixel.
Good design, but the legs don't really move forward enough. it looks like it's walking in place or stamping it's feet like a bull about to charge. Great effort though. This challenge is super hard because you basically have to be an engineer as well as an animator.
Fair enough. I just wondered about the color choice for the back leg.
whoa! this gives a weird effect on the pixelation theme O_o
@ Jalonso, I tried it with a darker leg and it didn't look right. I wanted the focus to be on the front leg (they are both doing the same movement anyway), so I 'misted away' the background leg...I really like the effect it gives.
I'm quite new to anims and it's taking me far too long to produce something like this, instead of fitting a frame around the mech I fitted the mech into the frame only to find the foot was cut...doh.(will try harder next time)
@Benevolent, sorry I don't understand the separate frame thing you mention?
not only the back foot is cut both are on seperat frames
Interesting the back leg being lighter instead of darker. Why is the back foot being cut on the last frame?
I didn't like the color of the other lag,the color should give more contrast.
And I wonder if the thing is walking foward..
