 Oh right, I forgot about the color limit.

I wish i could make the transition more dramatic but i had to share colors to fit in the limit. The tree only shares 1 color with the daylight tree, all the other shades of green are darker. It used to share more but i already made it darker than the my origional WIP. im not too used to a limited amount of colors so i dont know how to stretch my pallete more than i already have.

 Agree with Robinhood, and I don't think the palette shift is extreme enough. Try shading the tree different from day to night: maybe make it dark with a sliver of highlighting from the moonlight, real dramatic, to fit the tone shift, y'know?

If wou wanted to make a 2 minnute edit, you could add a LOT more contrast to the sun rays.
