Pixel Art Challenge: Unpaletteable

Feels like I've done this before!? ;)

Note: This is not a study in anatomy, it's a slight abstract; focusing on color, texture & compostion. Doesn't the bright purple make that clear? ;)

These colors are put together soooo nicely. And I don't think that was an easy task either... Beautiful work!!!

bem (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 11/25/2011 11:16

Absolutly fantastic... colors are beautiful :)

failureboy (Level 7 Assassin) @ 10/3/2011 14:45

also, I like the changes in the outermost border, changing as the piece changes.

Qemist (Level 1 Rookie) @ 9/25/2011 14:29

Its Micheal Jackson! whoop! Great anatomy ;) haha

baah (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 7/23/2011 13:38

I like the dithering very much!

James McCarter (Level 5 Lieutenant) @ 6/17/2010 10:39

I really like how you do the shading with the circles.  It's a really nice effect.

Dino502Run (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 5/19/2010 08:18

I really like how you used the colors

DarkWorld (Level 1 Rookie) @ 5/17/2010 20:58

good line ART

MashPotato (Level 7 Underboss) @ 5/13/2010 18:18

 Very nice!

Xellie (Level 1 Seaman) @ 5/13/2010 00:09

I think it's awesome. You do lighting very well. It's quite a challenge to stay in a style, and added to that in a limited palette. Well doneth.

DawnBringer (Level 10 Maniac) @ 5/10/2010 00:02

@Zweckform. Haha!...

@Everyone: Thx for your comments (nitpicky or not ;) )

Zweckform (Level 1 Intern) @ 5/8/2010 23:54

Anatomy looks wrong ! For me it looks a bit abstract, just like you were focusing only on color, texture and composition.Like it.

Peeter (Level 4 Button Man) @ 5/8/2010 17:02

I like how you can turn any palette into an awesome piece.

TropicalSnowcone (Level 5 Killer Klown) @ 5/7/2010 23:42

Certainly has one of my votes. Very nice indeed.

darchangel (Level 5 Killer Klown) @ 5/7/2010 19:25

It's amazing what you can do with such color choices...faved.

saehn (Level 1 Rookie) @ 5/7/2010 14:23

Nice. You can always spot the Amiga/C64 peeps.

khorin (Level 1 Private) @ 5/7/2010 14:10

Awww I'm working on a portrait of a female but the position is different. Anyway...

This is beautiful! However, the jawline is bothering me. I take it we're looking up at her slightly? If so, based on my reflection, that small bump on her left jaw could be flattened out.

MadMage (Level 5 Lieutenant) @ 5/7/2010 13:26

Perihelion (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 5/7/2010 09:07

Excellent use of the palette!

Hatch (Level 3 Hatchikyu) @ 5/7/2010 07:58

That's a loooooooooooooong neck

Argyle (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 5/7/2010 06:25

I enjoy the color placement a lot.  The underside of the neck/mandible where that lump is jutting out looks odd, like she swallowed something bigger than her throat, snake-eating style.

And the styledither kind of enters the realm of gross craterface at this point.

Xellie (Level 1 Seaman) @ 5/7/2010 05:53

That is very very nice to look at. I bow to your awesomeness.

skamocore (Level 11 CEO) @ 5/7/2010 02:26

Referring to the Windows Se7en challenge, I assume?

Anyway, you definitely have a knack for pleasantly putting together any colour restriction thrown at you. My only crit is the shape of her nose; it seems far too flat and narrow. She should ask for a refund from the plastic surgeon.

Also, nice touch with the heart :P

antymattar (Level 2 Kukyu) @ 5/7/2010 02:22

winner found!

PS: YOU ROCK!!! i wish i knew how to do this.
