That was the plan originally, I was operating on low power mode (Hadn't slept in a few days) when making it and forgot what I was doing. I may come back to the idea, if I don't completely forget, once I get some projects out of the way.
The winter one is a bit more interesting, to my eyes, but even sloppier.
100% agree with Hatch, when you first mentioned this I thought you would get really creative with the tiles; using rotation and altering colours to produce different objects out of the same pattern. I was expecting something in a similar vein to how the Mario bushes double as clouds.
This is something I whipped up as an example. A sun, clouds, a tree, ground tiles, and a character; all made out of the same pattern. This was really sloppy and quick, and I'm sure you can do a much better job than I did.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing more mock-ups like this from you; that is, if you do decide to make more.
This is actually quite interesting. I like how it still looks kinda cool, even with only 1 tile being used.
Seems like this could be accomplished with almost any randomish pattern tile, or even tiles of a single flat color. In effect you're just working with large pixels.
so, we heard you like pixels, so we put pixels in your pixels, so you can pixel while you pixel
