How about barrels... that explode?? Maybe for DLC or a sequel. Wouldn't want to overwhelm players.
Thanks! Star Guard never crossed my mind while I made this but it's definitely a cool game.
"Exciting features such as guns and crates?" Ooh! Could you work "barrels" into this concept?
I like this animation! I watched it several times; my favorite part is the behavior of the smoking guy at the end. It's perfectly hilarious.
The action reminds me of the game Star Guard.
Very good, loved the falling through the glass window effect. Faved
If this doesn't get you a girlfriend nothing will. haha love it ;)
GOOD STUFF!!! I also like the larger level you created! XD
Thanks man! Yeah, I was quite happy with how the window part turned out.
If you want to see more, you may be interested in these animations on my old deviantART account. They're kinda similar.
I LOVE this! I actually created an account to post a comment on this image. The retro style is so charming, I get nostalgic (or rather start to wish I really COULD be nostalgic, too young D:) whenever I look at it. Especially love the point in which the guard falls through the glass window. I reaally want to see more of this!
I agree with the squid, what if blocks fall down that create a random level?
Oh, niece piece too! ;)
you should make a real game out of this- random generated Tetrisblock shaped rooms filled with baddies and traps - would make a nice concept.
Reminds me of the flat-shaded greatness of Another World, but in bite-size pixels!
We should have more high frame count animations like this.
Man, this is really awesome. Too bad I didn't see it on the challenge entries, too crowded... Damn. Ended up not voting for this.
Haha.. I missed the joke too. But who cares it was still awesome!
I love it, bravo !
(So it's allowed to use other programs like flash to animate a pixel-art ?
I note that for further works. :)
okay, then i totally missed the joke, damn =) makes it even more awesome.. rating maxed.
Great piece! I think he should have rigged the door to blow late, so the guy walks back, we all think it's done... then boom
The idea was that the doors stay open when there's someone nearby, even if they're dead. The surviving guard did see what happened before he went back to smoking. That was the joke kinda.
Thanks for the comments and favs everyone :)
awesome+faved+win+yey!
one little storyline nitpick though: shouldn't the automatic door left to the final ledder be closed? otherwise the surviving guard would see his 2 shot comrades lying on the floor!
Awesome :D Reminds me of good old platform games days :D
Its all so effective but the smoking frames really have such personality. fav'd.
the moral of the story: smoke, don't do your work, and you'll be unscathed.
On a side note... crawling in ventilation ducts? orange? hmmm (10 points to whoever gets what I'm reffering to)
anyways, really nice, I was surprised when i realised the whole action sequence was animated, good job!
Supersweet fun animation. We need more of this on PJ 5/5!
391 frames. I animated each of the individual elements (walk cycles, background, etc.) in my usual pixeling program and then put everything together in Flash.
Sometimes I wonder why some of these things aren't real games...
