I think you've over-dithered this ^^' Maybe try some hue-shift too and don't be afraid of using solid colours. Remember to keep dithering minimal and for rounded/gradient objects for best effect.
Also I notice you used 44 colors @_@ That's really a loootttt for such a small piece... I'm a newbie myself too, but it seems in pixel art, you need to make each colour count. if you can reuse a colour you've used already then do so!
Anyway good luck, let's improve together! (^^)
I know maaan, the longer I look at this piece the more it puts me kinda off. hahaha
A very nice early attempt. I'd recommend downplaying the dithering a little, as it's usually not necessary over exceptionally large areas (unless you're trying to add a specific texture, and that's another thing entirely).
You might also check out this tutorial by Derek Yu. I was never big on dithering, but this really helped me out awhile back. It teaches some very good basic, ordered dithering patterns that are good for transitions.
Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing some more stuff.
Hi mis-BUG, I didn't now the number of colors used in a piece matter. XD
I'll consider that next time and do a better job picking colors that will be useful in a piece. Thanks for the tip!
BTW, you have an awesome gallery!
Hi there reppepp and welcome to PJ...
This is not a bad piece, but I think you need to lower the number of colours... This piece has 44 colours, but at least 25 of them are useless.
Hope to see more ;)
thanks for the tip Maru I'm understanding the concept of pixle art better hahaha
