+1 to the priority crit that BB made. I think maybe you should look at some Waku Waku 7 screenshots...it's got a compatible kind of atmosphere
I love the designs and this is a very interesting idea, but the color theory and visual priority needs to be addressed. Ideally, the planes should read immediately instead of requiring assembly to understand on a game register.
The playfield should showcase the highest contrast art in the mockup (the sprites), but they seem rather washed out (the HUD also). The red trunks in the midground overpower the playfield and the bushes in front of them are so low contrast it almost seems like holes have been cut in the trunks. The distant forest magenta burns a hole through the background, too.
This does look imaginative and fun to play! Keep up the work!
I know! my subconscious tricked me to draw a similar char! on the other hand, i have never seen the movie XD
Amazing colors, awesome bushes.. and i just love it <3 Good luck!!!
I know there's lots of style inconsistencies here and there, but please consider that this pic is the result of two different art styles combined together (mine and ardentsideburn's) and also most of the pixel work was done at work while...well while working!
I'm pretty happy because it looks exactly as i doodle it on paper, but it will be more detailed in the end. Unfortunately the lack of a programmer is slowing me down more and more, because i'm starting to lose enthusiasm in the project...
Love the colors. The style is awesome but inconsistent in places. The green foliage in particular is a lot more detailed than the blue trees in the background or the tree trunks. Also, watch your banding.
Gosh your style is definitly as awesome as it's unique.
The background trees tend to stand out to much to my liking though. You should give a darker outline to the main character sprite.
Very creative HUD !
Davvero interessante, stile e colori, e come hai ombreggiato gli alberi gli dà molto spessore.
Again, awesome piece but the health bar has really jaggy outlines. Also, the noodle thing is way more detailed than the cat. I think he needs fur texture if you compare him to the scenery.
I like it, it feels like Alice in Wonderland atmosphere.
I can help with the programming and make a complete demo for PC, I propose you an 640x480 or 800x600 screen size and 24 bit color without changing anything, just higher resolution and more colors for you to use.
Keep on spritting!
