This applies to all of your work, I love how even though you're (ostensibly) a professional in the business present and past, nerds here still question your integrity and pick apart your shit that was actually used in TV adverts and actual commercial videogames. I think that highlights a lot of the redundancy that goes on at this place.
nice gfx rly oldskool.... the add however ! O_o man! ...the nineties .... :D 't gek!
Thanks a lot for your constructive comments guys, much appreciated.
Cameron, you're right: it's a 45 degrees angle and therefore it's oblique in stead of isometric, my mistake. I'll change it in the title and description.
The house is indeed a bit strange in terms of construction, but that was purely due to the fixed path the game character had to follow from his attic-room to the basement exit.
The dark doorway is simply meant to indicate the destination exit, which is of course again strange. Luckily for everyone I chose to become a graphics creator in stead of an architect. :)
Regarding revamping the image: I think I'll leave it in this old, authentic shape, including its peculiarities, and go create new stuff.
Cheerio,
Metin
I would've put the ladder to the attic bedroom by the staircase landing, so one doesn't have to go through the main bedroom to get up to the attic room.
But anyway, on to pixelart comments...
Nice lines. Maybe some more shading would be good, such as on the couch, but the simple style works. I like the shiny tiles in the bathroom. And I'm dieing to know where the dark doorway in the basement leads to...
This isn't actually isometric, it's oblique, if I'm not mistaken. Anyhoo, oblique projection normally gives me a headache, but it works well here. Reminds me of Glider, an old Mac game.
sweet, i take it you're remaking it. few things, the pipes at the bottom stick out weirdly, the chest of drawers in the 3rd level stick too far out, going over the line where the staircase would be, needs to be thinner & extractor fan in kitchen needs shading. apart from that looks awesome :D
Thanks again for your your comments guys!
