Yeh, I seem to be putting tons of black & lines there always, find it really tough to use any other colors to separate areas.

It looks great, but 35 colors for such a small sprite is a bit overkill. You could easily reduce a lot of those, since a good majority of the colors are similar.

please transparify uneeded backgrounds, unless they serve a true purpose to the piece.
