This is my first attempt at doing a game mockup. With the original monochrome Game boy Gargoyle's Quest on the right, and my version on the left, the idea was to illustrate a remake done in the 16-bit Mega Drive or Super Nintendo style. Average colors are around 40, though screens vary from about 30 colors on a few all the way up to approaching 50 on certain ones (such as the title screen image).
Quality varies from shot to shot, as I am not yet adept at doing tilesets, and grass and rock bricks are something I still have a lot to learn about doing. Apologies for the quality of the Game boy screenshots on the right, as they were scaled manually and have varying degrees of anti-aliasing, though they should look enough like the original captures. |
