The Xisuran is an amphibious creature native to Idys.  One of their most distinctive features is their tough carapace, which can range from a light tan to burnt umber.  Another unique trait is their blue blood, which is called Cyama in their society.  They have two arms, two legs, and six additional "navigational" arms.  These extra arms help the Xisurans navigate whilst underwater.   When above water, they tuck their navigational arms into their chest.

The Xisuran are rapacious in the search for information. They are eager learners, even amongst their youngest.  While this is beneficial to the foundation of their society, the lengths they take for knowledge has the potential to be harmful to themselves and others.

The design of the Xisuran is based off of a horseshoe crab.  It has an exoskeleton, five pairs of claws, and blue blood, just like a horseshoe crab.  Their name is based of of the Order of the Horseshoe crab, "Xiphosura".  The Xisurans, despite all of their similarities to the Xiphosuran, contrast greatly in one way. On Idys, the Xisurans changed drastically to become what they are now - the horseshoe crab hardly ever changed at all in the history of Earth.
