Haha, you're back with improvement! Nice job =)
A few points:
I think you need a little more saturation, and also saturation change between colors. Even though you shifted hues, the constant saturation makes it look very monochromatic. There are several options; most realistic is higher saturation in the medium values (that's what I did), some keep it for the darkest colors instead.
You also need another highlight color.
Good texture, but you overdid it, and it interferes with important detail such as on the nose. Make sure you have perfect shapes and shading before applying any texture / dithering, and don't use it where it isn't necessary.
There are interesting shapes in the ref, planes and lines to break down the figure into pixel clusters (although to be honest, maybe some of these lines are jpeg artifacts: the ref is really small to do good work from). I'm not good at this, those lines I picked are not precise. I didn't use them in the edit anyway, just fixed a bit the nose and mouth as I could.
Some anatomy experts will give you better advice, hopefully.
Yeah the shirt is a real pain in the neck, because it is black and it absorbs light and there for there is no shadows for me to shade, but i will try to think of a way to make it look good :) The nose is a quick fix.... Thanks for your comments :)
I definitely like the shading style. The shirt and nose look flat to me though.
I like it. The shading style is cool ^^
You have used nice colors, but I prefer more satured colors. :)
Very interesting shading style! His shirt and the bg look very dull in comparison to his face, though. Don't get me wrong, I still like it a lot.
Thanks Manupix :) But I will keep this picture as it right now because i spent too much time on it and don´t even want to see it anymore.
But I will keep all your tips in mind, next work will be a portrait to and there I will take all your tips and but them into practice.
