Try to give the slime a little feeling of transparency and/or shinyness; give it a hint of background (keeping it very very simple, maybe just a cast shadow).

Anti-aliasing is out of control! Remove it, then try again with the pieces own colors as much as possible; maybe add one or two more colors if strictly necessary. No more!
