Phlogiston ftw. Good to see that there have been some nice album covers done by some fine artists around here lately. Been seeing some really bad pixel art covers for chip tune artists around springing up lately so things like this and the ones I've noticed from iLKke and Ptoing recently are nice to see :D
Nice piece, apart form the obvious flaws mentioned below.
Also, you forgot to finish the table :)
I looove this, despite some inconsistencies with light.
The bottom of the two chars should be much darker, because the effect of light decreases with distance squared. Their heads get 10 times more light than their feet! And their feet are in the shadow of the table anyway!
I really disslike the colorful character and I think he really drags down the quality of this piece which is otherwise excellent.
I like the atmosphere this piece evokes, but the color forcing seems a bit jarring. Maybe if they can fade into the grey, it would enhance the scene. The crowd in the background seems affected by the hanging light bulb, so it seems a little out-of-place that it doesn't cast its light realistically over the two central characters. You could even use the light to enhance the tenseness of arm wrestling match. You could make the battling limbs a bit brighter while keeping the figures a darker and more mysterious. You give the viewer more of an adventure for their eyes -- If they want the details, they have to seek them.
nice to see new work from you. liked the music. btw thanks for that help on graphics gale. (youresponded to a comment on youtube) itreally helped. those guys in the bg are really cool!
