This piece totally rocks! Totally love the Buddy Christ pose!
This is incredibly awesome. I love the color choice and the detail on the waves in particular. 5/5 bro.
woah man, I love this, and it's also a piece of pure lol :D
Love the water in this piece, but I dont really like the color. Nonetheless I love the piece, great job!
MAn thts Awesome i love the frames too they pop up well in the image great job over all man ..voting for this for sure
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. )))
But seriously, I think it works pretty well. A bit flat but I don't see it as a bad thing in this piece )
P.S. Oh and nice reasoning to critique something "because it was getting such praise". Lovin' it.
haha, that's badass!! The whole thing is quite epic, and that pose is somethin' else for the content being portrayed :)
Something that really stands out to me though, is how two-dimensional it all feels. Like everything has such gorgeous shading and attention to detail, but there is hardly any depth to it.
A lot of this has to do with how everything is shaded in the same way with the same amount of contrast and value no matter the content or position. For example, it's not hard for the eyes to believe that his right hand, face, and stomach all occupy the same plane on the z axis.
Beyond that, the individual pieces are not conveyed in a 3-dimensional way; the fish creature arms, Cthulu's wings, the tentacles, the fingers, the waves.. they all look like they were laid flat on the canvas. Nothing in particular appears to have depth on its own. The pointing finger is probably the easiest example. As a stand alone image the viewer would have no idea that it was coming towards them because of the way it is shaded and drawn. Only because of the context that goes with it is it possible to see it with any depth.
Overall this piece is awesome and worthy of the 1st place it will probably get, but because it was getting such praise I thought I'd point out this relatively evident oversight. If perspective isn't a concern for you I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it has been something on your mind, though, I would put some time into studying it and applying it in your works. You've got a great style, and definitely skill, but I think that there is a lot more potential yet to be released.
Holly heck this is incredble. Love the 'buddy Jesus' pose. Voted to win!
One of the most accomplished dithering uses of all times. I hope this will win.
Thanks everybody.
I wish I had more time for this ( or I started with the pic 2 times smaller) it could use some tweaks here and there, but I'm pretty happy how it turned out.
Oke
If you didn't tell me to finish it I would just drop it . Thanks )
P.S. It's all Fool's fault ) Originaly I wanted to make something as big, but I droped the idea immidietly and started 2 times smaller. But still too big )))
......Glad you did it in time....i'm speechless, absolutly fucking speechless.
Great work, I'm very glad you finish it in time) Take my voice
Super cool.
The clouds and, to a lesser degree, Cthulhu look a touch pillowy and the legs of the left Deep One are very short but these niggles in no way diminish the cool of this piece.
Holy crap. One of the best pixel pieces I have seen in a while. Truly breath taking.
Holy crap! This must have taken some time. You've really captured a great feel. Love the colors, the water. Even the frame is great. I wish I could keep my motivation going for something this large and detailed. Excellent job!
\o/ Really cool! If I had to nitpick (and I do don't I?) ... I think a stronger glare from the lightning on the head, hand & arm would look even better and increase the dramatic effect. And shouldn't the wings be seen in the side frames as well (or perhaps they are smaller than I think and a hint can be seen?)
that is some dank shit there
