Its been awhile folks.. To clarify; Starlight Fields is unfinished, and will likely remain that way for some time. Since it was my first big peice so I had alot of ground to cover ..but regardless of its shortcomings, I hope ya enjoy.

Yikes!! I really need to focus on AAing the next big peice I decide on uploading.. This one being an exception of course.

Though I'm open for suggestions, so comment!

UP-TO-DATE: adjusted colors and added another misleading preview to Disturbbing Hobby.

Total Time: 12hrs on & off

I love how your previews promise something good and you end up seeing something great

very nice piece.  definitely one of my favourites from August!  I love the colour palette and your design of the moon and the tree.

Nice one! the preview didn't make justice to the full pixel :D

HCGamer (Level 2 Quiet One) @ 9/6/2010 10:47

 Unusual piece, nice.

user
Ergg (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 9/6/2010 10:05

It looks like a dream. Really well done.

user
Sneep29 (Level 4 Deputy) @ 9/6/2010 02:58

I personally don't think you should consider AA in your piece. It's perfect enough. If anything, it reminds me of Yoshi's Island, which is an automatic 5 stars from me!

iMoose (Level 6 SWAT) @ 9/5/2010 09:41

Oh man. This looks so great. The preview is great too. Extremely pleasant to the eye. Great color choice.

A great style and an astonishing use of a palette, very nice.

user
mashimi (Level 1 Rookie) @ 9/1/2010 14:59

I actually said "wow" under my breath when I saw this :3 I like all of it   5* and favorite

user
Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 8/31/2010 15:04

Haaa, new version!

The moon was definitely better with more contrast, it provided the light (whatever the title says).

user
cele1989 (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/31/2010 06:32

Amazing. I love it. Very pretty :)

user
Fingerfoods (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 8/31/2010 06:07

I really like it!

The shading on the ridge to the left is slightly confusing, though. Any chance you could introduce another color on the tree leaves between the gold and the dark blue?

user
Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 8/31/2010 06:00

Wow! What a beauty.

The mountains might use the darkest blue instaed of black; the cropping is a bit hard esp on the right side fg.

user
KORCHA (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/31/2010 05:36

Yeah I agree it could've been 10x better, sadly I'd just end up making another excuse not to finish it..  Though I don't mind suggestions. Now about the swing; it just did't fit right after I had trimmed the tree, but believe it or not I'm using that particular scene on a new peice.

Also I went ahead an cleaned up some jags here & there and made a few minor touch ups.

CalmWater (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/31/2010 04:58

Cozy place, i would built a house there

user
Setzer (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 8/31/2010 04:11

I must be the only one who's liking the way this looks without the AA, it gives it a great pixelly feel. Love it.

user
Gecimen (Level 11 Master Assassin) @ 8/31/2010 03:44

I don't agree that this looks unfinished. Could it be more complete? Yes, infinitively, it could have realistic details, or it could stay as a comic page as this. But for sure if you spend 1 hour max for some AA it would look cooler.

user
avo (Level 7 Mass Murderer) @ 8/31/2010 02:02

Wow, looks very nice!

user
skamocore (Level 11 CEO) @ 8/31/2010 01:11

Eek, this had such potential, but at the moment it just seems unfinished and unrefined :(

Also, why no swing? I think it added a nice point of interest to the piece.

user
ev149 (Level 4 Button Man) @ 8/30/2010 15:31

I like it alot!  I agree it could go for some AA, but it's a great piece with nice composition.
