@SpaceSalmon:
These are Chaos Marines and some would have mutations or horns bursting out.
Some chaos lords coming, along with some orks, Tau and maybe Eldar ;o)
Thanks for all your comments guys.
Funny thing is I did use a flat colour in the beginning but I thought the dithering looked better (I still have a lot to learn)
I have some 'Good Guy' Space Marines (Dark Angels, Ultramarines & Space wolves) in progress and some Orks and Tau, so I'll practice some cell shading on those. I'm not too familiar with cell shading, any recomended tutorials out there? Thanks guys.
I have orcs and goblins and haven't touched those in ages. Man, they are way to expansive. Now I just have them in their boxes laying around somewhere...
these are nice, although I don't get why their helmets have horns. 5/5
Now do all the chaos lords ;)
Yeah, those models.. They sure do cost a heck of a lot to buy, even the plastic ones!
I gotta agree with Yaomon here - cell shade. It's difficult to find a small piece that can use dithering effectively. However, I really enjoy the creativity of the concept, and I think that's the saving grace of these models.
A nice job Sterner :) I especially like how you have presented them. I don't mind the dithering but agree that cell shading or even making the dithered areas a solid tone could have given them all a more shiny/smooth/polished look. I think you even already have the colors for that there.
Dark flag color for green bits, darkest flesh for reds and grey/dark flesh purple from preview on grey.
I love the style of these dude! I would love to make paper standees of these. Do you have more? Boss dude, totally BOSS! They look better than the real thing. So 80's retro graphic good.
