While i still fail to understand that 'never bend' rule, i keep experimenting with pixels. Probably that thing looks to you like some measles-demon. Also i want to mention that i used palette witch was send to a resent palette challenge.

While we at it (beanding), that pic you sent earlier. Should i ever encounter a line, like the one marked with "A", i`ll do my best to fix it into "B". Aestetic tastes huh.. i wonder if i have some.

As for that pic, most of your critique makes a lot of sense and i`ll remember that. Couple words about head thou. It`s supposed to be profile (guess it is neck what gives wrong impression), while the body 3/4. And 'nose' isn`t supposed to be look like that. It`s one big nostril without cartilage, witch size is almost equal to demons eye, even slightly bigger.

Why did i draw that picture in some ms-paint-spray-style? Well that what that experiment was about. I was wondering how it will turn out.

bend > band. never say never, there are instances where it's acceptable and nobody will find that it hurts the piece, but these are usually specific cases that don't form the majority.

here is an edit of the devil piece.

there are anatomy problems, and while i didn't focus on them on my edit, here's a list of what stands out: jaw is small/short, there is no 'back' of the jaw where it meets the skull, his left forearm is too long/skinny, the muscles of the arm are ignored, the neck is in profile while the torso just beneath it is in 3/4ths perspective.

my edit focuses on pixel tech. areas you'll want to not are the top left corner of the sky, the face, and the cord. i've added aa on the cord to smooth it out. in the sky, i used a couple different types of dither, as straight 50/50 checkerboard dither usually isn't effective over large fields. also, be careful dithering two colors when the contrast is too high, as it makes the area stand out and gives it texture, which is the opposite of what one is usually trying to achieve with dither. on the head, the horns seemed to be at a strange perspective, and i tried to add highlights and adjust the features to make the forms stand out (and fix anatomical issues). as far as the piece as a whole goes, there's nothing inherently wrong with the grainy use of single pixels all over, but i'm curious as to why you decided to add shading and texture in this way. as it is it looks a bit like ineffective pointilism.
