this is really great. But lava could use some bubbles, explosions and stuff.
This would depend on the mechanics of the rest of the game, but perhpas experiment with having a flat 2D background as opposed to one that has the same perspective as the foreground? Nto entirely sure if that would work but it could solve the endless lava tiling issue. I think the BG needs some depth regardless, maybe darker towards the back.
Needs more variation in the lava and such.
Other then that nice colors and textures. =D
I generally agree with former comments: this is both awesome and wanting.
Possibly assembling the same elements in 1/4 the size might give it more impact.
Those rocks on the left are just amazing, although they feel like they belong to another piece.
The lava and rocks repetition is boring.
But the piece colors, shading and concept are beautiful. Congrats!
I love this piece, althought it has some repetition, it has a really great atmosphere, and some good pixel technique.
If I may, I'd like to crit the colors, I think they could be a lot better. First off, its a dungeon, so I think the piece could be darker as a whole, but with more contrast to bring out the colors (which the piece could use more of in the first place). Also, the lava could be way better. Darker reds with lighter yellows would make it stick out more and look more lava like, which has a high contrast between dark and light (depending on the lava I guess, but it would be more recognisable). The lavas colors also look kind of green. Here's my edit. I know you probably don't want some asshole photoshopping your pixel art, but this shows how much better it could be, I hope. And I hope this helps you in some way, if not with this one then maybe future pieces.
Reflection on gargoyle wings rock. It's good in general too.
I like the idea of a mockup, but the lava is way too empty, and the rocks on the left don't fit so much with the lava.
wow. excelent work
