I'm sending this back and I'm going to request that you correct the colours.
There seems to be, what looks like compression artifacts, especially around the top of the pants - but in many other places as well. There are many indistinguishable colours and quite a number of stray pixels and frankly, there's no reason that something like should have 192 colours, especially considering how you were aiming for "limited detail".
Thanks.
I dunno... I'm quite the Gorillaz fan and the only resemblance I see is in the jaw and lips. The Gorillaz don't really use a "graffiti" style and although some of the artwork looks simple at first glace there is an insane ammount of detail.
Furthermore there are some fundamental problems in the anatomy and although it is a cartoon, the art for the Gorillaz do follow the basics. For example, the face you drew is way to big compared to the whole head, causing the ear to be pushed up to the eye.
You should probably look up more references if you really want to capture the style and learn about basic proportions. The Demon Days' cover would be the best reference for a profile.
-Good luck!
I recognized the style immediately by looking at the preview. I agree with EdJr though, you could do so much more with 192 colors, or you could have just used less colors. It's a very nice piece though, good job.
Edit: It seems you only used 189 colors, unless I am missing something (checked with graphics gale). Not that it makes any real difference though :p
The style really seems to come from a Gorillaz image, but I really don't like the colors, the number of colors, and the way you used them. You made gradients in wrong parts, I think you could do much more with this color count.
I am new to all this you know. I'll try my best to get better. But keep in mind i know hardly anything yet.
