hi there ellhnikos! :) im happy you have got back to c64 pieces! i really like this hires as well as the previous one though there are a few things that this piece would benefit from if changed/revised a little. i completely agree with the nacl leg/head edit but i can see why you decided to leave the space between the legs darker -- it adds some depth to the picture. esthetically though, at least as for my taste, the nacl version looks better. also, im not really keen on the blue border -- i think you'd be better off with the gray one (or you could do a blue/gray dithered pattern there (but now im not sure whether hires restrictions apply to the borders -- i guess not). anyways, i always respect your stylistic choices so i take this piece as it is and i really admire it! cheers!
I love the piece; abhor the colors. C64 ruins so many otherwise awesome pieces, to me. Both the green and yellow are just yuck :<
Onek, thank you for the edit. It's very illuminating and I appreciate the effort you went through to wrestle with the limitations :)
On the leg the attribute visibility is a tradeoff I would not want just for a bit of AA, but the head edit is spot on.
Hey Pal!
What is the deeper connetion between you and the c64 colours? .. Just wonder :)
Splendid work !
PS: Soory long time no chat... got serious problems but no im fine
... ooops... i should also link the edit i guess .... @__@

quite a unique style as always.... but i dont like the head too much... a bit too round imo and theneck seems too long... heres an edit trying to fix the head... i had to dump some details to stay within the grid... also im not sure if the edit works at all... but i think u should make it less round nonetheless
... i also felt like some parts could need aa (like his right leg), hard to do in hiRes, i know, but i tried some weird hires aa attempt... i think it works
Fantastic. I actually like the color selection a lot personally, but I am a fan of odd and incongruous palettes so perhaps a grain of salt is in order.
The only color I am unsure is the dark brown, which I might replace with pure black. I'm still thinking on it.
