those clouds are wonderful. very good sense of colour in this piece!
Not a fan of the stars, this has some fantastic colors though :D
I'm a bitch for starry scenes and I just love the colors in this piece.
Faved;
i don't like the skyscrapers,but the shape of the cloud it's very cool,good =)
I like this a lot, especially the colours :D But I think that you've fallen into the evenly-spaced-stars fallacy. What you have at the moment is a lot of stars the are consistently about 2-5 pixels apart, but if you have a look at the night sky (or pictures of it) you'll notice that stars are never this evenly spaced. A good example of uneven star placement from the gallery is this piece by Arachne.
@Hrunting, this is actually what my latest piece looks like right before an array of tentacles rise from the depths! :o
So subtle, and yet so inspirational, and very simple and easy on the eyes. This already, to me, should be in the "Hall of Fame". It's just so beautiful. It's gotta be that simple design, and the colors. Great work man.
I see. Resize it up to the final size, with nearest-neighbor scaling (makes huuuuge pixels). No more blurry prints then.
I like the simplicity and the colors very much.
The clouds seems to come from a big polutional center, maybe really toxic, or from an explosion, "dunno lol".
But very interesting, and faved ^^
It wasn't the colors I was having problems with (okay, I sort of did but the skin tone of this person below the buildings was always faded), it was the way that it printed out because of the resolution. It was like the picture was zoomed in and the pixels were blurry. I almost got it to look decent, but by that time I sort of gave up (got tired of taking trips back and forth to the photo department). I'll have to continue to monkey around with it some more so that hopefully I can sell these at a convention next year.
hehe.... i also saw some similarity to ska's latest piece, they work together quite well
Very pretty, and I disagree with the windows needing comment. I think having simplistic buildings adds kind of a new-school flair to it.
Did it look something like this?
Welcome to the marvelous mystery lands of color management. These nice colors are typically out of gamut for usual CYMK process. They might be ok with high-end inkjet printers (those with 7 or 8 color cartridges), but that's not the same kind of budget.
When designing graphics for printing, it's a good idea to check color printability, pro software such as photoshop allow for this.
I think it's very humorous that skamocore submitted something in this vein of art just recently. A palette that transitions between three colors, a foreground that uses the background color, and vividly defined shapes.
Excelent! Nice palette, maybe the buildings with windows could look good
the clouds look lovely, nice palette too, but id put less stars
Love the colors in that sky.
