i'm doing a pixel gfx entry for alt party 2010 (demoscebe event in helsinki this week end), let's see if i get it finished :)
i'm still going to use GrafX 2 for creating that pic, so no fancy photoshop palette management :), but hand picked palettes for sure, no smearing etc :P just free painting with various brush sizes :) (i know, i know..).
wanna give me a theme? that would be nice! it just needs to be powerful enough to jump from the mass :)

Jeremy: in this case the contrast between black and next-darkest color is because of my ooold and bad monitor back then 13 years ago.
Dumbo: "Why do this style art through pixels?" - wellh, why the hell not? :) 13 years ago Deluxe Paint was best possible way (for me at least) to do nice-looking Digital Art, demoscene-wise. i don't like this pic anymore that much, but i uploaded it among others, coz i had them on my HD. I've lost piles of old pixel gfx, mainly because of HD failures. of course i do wacom illustrations nowadays, too. i just love early '90 era in pixel gfx (game & demoscene)
The background is just...so....amazing

I can see how your art could raise suspicions but IMO it's pixel art non the less. Pixel art that took a long time to finish i assume lol

I like this one's background more than that of the 320x200 HIRES piece, and I can see where you were going with that now. I don't understand why there is such a big change in contrast between the black and next darkest colours? These sorts of things can raise suspicion about "dirty" methods used like colour reduction, as it is somewhat nonsensical when you have a large number already.
I would really strongly recommend submitting some other work that you might have, especially those with lower colour counts (like the C-64 Palette). Or pixel something new, just for us ;)
WIP stages would be great too. Pixeljoint welcomes Demosceners; you're obviously a talented artist but you need to undertand that Pixel Art's (or at least Pixeljoint's) ideals have evolved in the past 13 years ;)

yeah, i used a magazine as a reference when i drew nose :) but no digital picture behind that etc.. otherwise 100% by me. i finished this picture at the partyplace so that's why partly crappy hearts. background is mainly done in 8h or less at the partyplace..
it was 13 years ago, so i have had like 2-3 harddisk crashes since that. no work in progress left..
