Improved the colors using my newly created plugins for quick individual color adjustment, and worked on the hands. And added a frame. See the description for a link to a progress anim.
Buloght (yes, I read your PM, just clarifying this) It is technically perfect, aside from the mentioned point. That means there is nothing I would change. I also have a policy of leaving the description alone, and only adding to it. It's confusing when comments refer to something in the description that is no longer there.
While I could say that this pic still needs work, I think it is already overworked, and I think it is a bad idea to spend so long on a piece unless its scale requires it (depicts a large scene with many people and objects). It's true that demoscene graphics were often very technically polished, it's also true that you pay for such extravagant attention to technical detail by loss of the time that you have to work on the character of a piece. Character as in 'salient aspects' Working excessively on the technical aspects of one piece also over-specializes your skills (eg. you won't learn as much about anatomy by working on one piece a hell of a lot as you would by making many pieces concentrating
Also, I try to fix my weaknesses (eg. human faces). It's easy to avoid this if you're working on a piece that plays almost exclusively to your strengths. I try to pick things to do or ways of doing them that are strange to me. The most blatant example would be that 'rectangle girl' picture.. shading in such a style is very restricted.

I should read descriptions more carefully. I was always under the impression you drew your own works. Looking forward to something you do 100%.
I have to agree with ebby. I was also confused by all your latest works. I find those you mention, hungry, naga, anubis wuff are a different standard in texturing, palette and just about everything. Why is that? Do you think the lineart from the other people inspires you more? Not that any of your newer works are bad, they are still good in their own right , but just not what your previous works are.
I have not used anyone else's lineart since 2004. fighter ~ naga ~ anubis ~ perseus ~ wuff ~ hungry are the ones that used other's lineart, and are the least lively as a result.
ebby, you have a strange sense of humor. It's a different strange than my strange sense of humor.
after viewing your gallery, there seems to be a large difference in the quality of shading between your pieces. i understand you get lineart from other people, but sometimes the actual shading looks likes its done by two different people. your newer works looks like you got much worse over the years?
Considering that 'anubis' is on the front page of the 'most favorites', and this is on the eighth, it probably needs a background.
once i adjust the colors again.
on my way!

I love the colors you used to make the fur. And don't worry about the hands, they are perfect for what they are...
Crud, I can't remember either. I remember this version though, absolutely stunning. This (and your anubis piece) are both still in my "BestOf2K3" folder. ;)
