Hands and feets looks great

As best as I could make out from some of the official artwork I used for refrence, they look like stylized, fuzzy pectorals that are meant to kind of overlap the rest of his chest fur (could be wrong, just my best guess) . I think I might have a readibility issue with 'em though so any ideas as to how to improve how they look would be appreciated. Actually, after taking another look at the official artwork again, maybe I should shrink 'em?

 I'm confused about the brown things in the middle...What are those?
