hey I only responded to stick up for the Spectrum (and the Amstrad) when they get accused of having eye burning saturated colors. Sick of the C64 getting worshipped like a god of 8 bits. While I appreciate it takes some skill to make a nice looking screen from colors that still make it look like blocky vomit.
I love the gardens (hedges?). The use of black is very excellent.
This is pretty nice, you avoided character clash well with the use of black :)
@Carnivac: Seriously, stop whining about how the C64 palette is drab and muddy. I agree the averaged settings (all the dials on monitor or TV to 50%) palette is pretty unsaturared, but many people like it that way. Many others like it more saturated or whatnot, that is when you fiddle with the dials :P
I dunno. I always find something quite appealing about Spectrum graphics these days. The palette might not offer a lot of colors but I still prefer their vibrancy over the drab and muddy C64 colors which pretty much killed my enjoyment of any game on that computer often making me a feel a lil bit ill.
Anyways I like this. Nothing fancy but well defined and nice to look at.
ZX Spectrum graphics has the worst limitations in the world, not to mention the horrible palette.
wow i like the fact with the 8 x 8 blocks......this ads a kind of perfection into this very good pixelart^^
This is nice! makes me want a game about this.
