this remind me of the waterlevel in TMNT on the nes! http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/media/11627/1/57.jpg
I love it.
However, challenge entries must have been made entirely during the challenge week. If you started working on this one before that, it won't do I'm afraid. Sorry, I should have thought of it before.
Sure, multiple entries are ok.
Floating Land is wonderful, btw!
May I? I've already submitted the Floating Land :D
@all: thank you very much!
Lurvly!
Now please make a 4 color version for the challenge.
Awesome. I don't really know what else to say. I love the color use, the simple animation, and the HUD.
Cool style! I dunno bout you but I'm getting some readability problems with the main character. I see him, but he stands out a lot less compared to the rest.
Well, the idea was to 'use' them (by walking in front of them!) to deactivate the 'zap-you-silly' doors for a set time... I had to make them stand out somehow :)
Also, the idea of something being distracting in a videogame wasn't very developed in the eighties, I guess :D
...wow. Looks like an official game. One thing, though, don't you think the flashing computers in the background could become distracting? idk, but it looks awesome. :D
Heh, if I had to compare it to something, it would be Balding's Quest... Nothing short of an amazing 2d game engine! I've last played it a year or so ago (when the last milestone was out, I think) and the yellow-on-black colors and industrial theme stuck in my head for quite a while :)
I was just now looking at the random screenshots and mockups of BQ and I must tell, there is some shocking similarity- I've just realized BQ also has the 'electro-bariers', for example O_O
