 If he is a ninja, he would keep his (kickass, but yeah, kinda droopy) double scythe thing on his back. (nods) Random.
If the scythe is perpendicular to the ground, though, the shadow would just be a line.... By the way. Ahem. Cool high contrast.

I like the dramatic setting and you've got a nice palette going on here.  The curve on the top blade looks a bit ackward -- like it's drooping.
