I got a liking to 4 colour stuff, so I asked ilkke to provide me with a nice 4 colour palette and he did. This time with tall pixels. Also thanks to Arachne and ilkke for suggestions.

Good old Atari ST had a 640x200x4 mode with such tall pixels too.

Reminds me of Moebius. Better than your actual C4 challenge pieces I think.

How many frames are there in those gifs? ImageReady chokes and can't open them!

That progress link is lovely.
Really nice piece of work.

Nice! I dig the tall pixels and the colors. Dithering with tall pixels looks nice.

I have been using Wacom tablets since 2005 pretty much exclusively for pretty much everything apart from some mouse driven games and 3D stuff. So yes, tablet.

And just another question - do you work with a mouse or a graphic tablet?

user
avo (Level 7 Mass Murderer) @ 10/27/2010 11:43

Thanks for info. Personally i've never seen all those old standards and the oldest one i remember really well is VGA... Will know from now...

Several old graphic standards had tall pixels. There are 2 modes in EGA which have more or less tall pixels, the Amstrad CPC has a hires tall pixel mode, the Commodore Amiga has one as well and there are probably more. There could even be some arcade games with tall pixels.

Where the tall pixel comes from? is it TV or a sort of old computer monitor? Good image, anyway.
