the grass is awesome, I have a really really hard time finding the tile barrier, is it multiple tiles comprising the grass? the dirt doesn't have this same chaos.

Aye I definitely have some issues with contrast in my works I need to find out how to work on!
Nice I immediatly spotted some Rpg Maker XP objects in here :D well not the actual objects but recreated. Very cool style but I think the rocks and well look very clean and peacefull while the grass is noisy. (same for the dirt, bit noisy aswell)

Hmm, what surfaces do you mean? The post above the well is probably the worst culprit. I actually scrapped the idea when I was working on the well, but for presentations sake threw it back in for this since the well looked so boring by itself. Otherwise I think there is a fair amount of lighting contrast on the rocks.
I will say though that the piece as a whole lacks some sort of contrast, but I had planned to mostly do those effects(like shadows) later, which maybe would alleviate those problems.

Love the grass the most
It's really well-polished. The only thing I don't really like is the fact that the objects and the ground seem to blend in too much. Perhaps due to a lack of shadow? I don't know.
The grass, rocks, and HUD stuff all look AMAZING. In my opinion.

I don't remember the method used, but I think it was just the same 4 tiles with different variations of highlights.
