Thank you for clarifying that for me. I wish there was some universal measure that could be used to tell when something was good enough to be done -- I hate looking back at an earlier stage in a WIP and thinking 'what exactly was wrong with this again? I just spent a couple hours of work for nothing!'
(my condolences about the health of your game, you have my full sympathies -- good luck whichever way it turns out.)
@Ninja Crow
I did NOT make this animation in an hour. I made the crappy one-color weapon in an hour. The base animations took weeks upon weeks. I had to keep going back and readjusting things and re-editing them. It's gone through so many iterations, I couldn't tell you.
And the game was set to be huge. Tilesets and backgrounds were coming along so slowly, and it had gotten to the point where neither of us even wanted to work on it. I'm a very slow pixel artist. I get obsessed with working on little things so I'll spend 30 minutes on a single 32x32 tile... It's a shame, but it's probably not going anywhere.
Lack of time?! If you can make something like this in an hour, you could have a whole game in like a day and a half, two days tops!
The animation is very convincing, and there's an abundance of personality -- it's so smooth I could watch it all day.
(I selfishly hope you'll someday be able to finish your game -- even at this speed of production it would be epic -- but I'm grateful for everything you can share, I always learn something from it, thank you.)
this is amazing ! the animation is so fluid and i love the colours you've used ;u;
Swinging looks great to me too. Very well done with lots of character. It's too bad the game's fallen through.
What, no comments?! This piece is awesome! I love the fuzzy, adorable style of the sprite in general, but the animation looks very well done. At least to me. Great job.
I'm impressed that you did this attack animation in only an hour!
