I always use this http://ptoing.net/images/other/pal_c64.png palette. This one http://ptoing.net/images/other/pal_pepto.png is slightly more true to a real C64 but looks quite dark on a monitor. Both are fine tho.

If you want to make a C64 pic you might wanna also read this http://ptoing.net/html/c64info.htm

These c64 themed pictures are realy cool. Do you have the colour-scheme so I can try myself? I´d realy like to try...

Heh, colour 64 is a bit of a misguess. The Commodore 64 is an old computer, back from the 80ies. Just google "c64" or "commodore 64" and you should get plenty of info about it.

 Always liked this image despite my distaste for the C64 palette (too washed out and drab for my tastes).  The birds are my favorite part of the image.  Not sure why though...

Geez.  I can't believe what you can get out of that C64 palette. The color selection and AA on those bubbles is insanely good.
