This piece looks incomplete in my eyes. If you can pixel a detailed meteor like that, then there's no good reason why you can't pixel its fiery tail just as well. In fact, I urge you to go back and improve this. Because as it stands, that inadequate flame ruins the piece, and makes for a wholly unappealing preview image.
At the moment, what's holding back the fire's potential is how you limited the second darkest blue to merely AAing around the flame's outline. That blue can accomplish much more for you than that! And the way you implemented white doesn't interpret the flame at all. It needs to be enveloping the meteor (the hottest area).
You also might consider shifting the subject a mite higher to rid yourself of that empty space above it.

The fire's shape seems too rounded for my liking, I love the meteorite though.
