Very cool face. I kinda like the small thumbnail better because of her left glove. You should make brick GB games :D
Beautiful face, the dithering you've done works really nicely too
No matter how hard I try, I can't see a hand/arm :/. Other than that nice and simple.
She's very cute. Even with no highlights in the hair, it still works quite nice.
I love the face and the hair, but I didn't read the arms at all.
I honestly thought that lower hand was a big thumb, and that she was holding something crumply with it like a piece of paper.
But yeah the face is excellent, the pixeling is clean and you especially captured the expresion very nicely.
Don't be sorry :P
Anyway, yeah, the right arm doens't look as good as it could, I've tried to make something different but I get bored in the process and left it this way :P
I don't usually like dithering but it does work very well here and reminds me of some old Amstrad CPC games that used it's 4 color mode (as opposed to it's lower resolution 16 colors). I like it.
Great coloring! But I agree, right arm is bit confussing...
I'm sorry, but... This is amazing. Although, I'm not sure the left arm (the arm on the right) is readable enough.
Usually I'm not too fond of dithering but here the dithering on the face doesn't bother me at all. Couldn't tell you why I feel that way, though... Maybe it's... stylized? Is that the word?
Again, however, the dithering on the arms might benefit from refinement.
Thanks! The reference was more for the mood than the volumes, but you're right, it coul be a lot better with a better volume with a more detailed reference.
The original image uses other 4 colours of the palette, this choice was a last minute decition :P
That ref is a nice photo but very unsuitable to pixel from: the light is so diffuse there isn't any shading, and you can't guess at volumes. Consequently your own shading suffers.
Also, dithering overkill alert.
Good color choice from the difficult palette!
Really cute!
