I'm thinking about start a serie of dinosaurs pixelart.
The dinosaur: Tyrannosaurus rex.

My own Comments:
I took 2 days to finish this drawing. The software I use is Character Maker 1999, a kind of MS Paint, just more pleasant and with a pallete editor.
Just to clarify before the questions come, I did not use reference, since I'm a paleoartist and I study dinosaur's anatomy.

To the artist and all who commented on the anatomy. I'm not sure what you're basing your accuracy of the T-Rex anatomy on; however, it is wrong. With the risk of sounding too harsh, that anatomy isn't even close to Large Theropod and much less a Tyrannosaur. Unlike most of the other posters here, I love the color choice and use of shading, but you cannot call that a Tyrannosaur. Here's a link of a Rex for reference of my comment.

First, the head shape is totally wrong. T-Rex has a longer skull and you put his eyes on the side of the head where an herbivore would have eyes. Carnivores see directly ahead of themselves to help hunt prey and focus. The webbing goes farther into the mouth, but that's a small complaint when the teeth are so few and do not follow the wave pattern used for ripping. Moving to the nose snout, you've inverted the skull curve which sould be a J shape near the eye instead of an inverted hook. At least you got the dip though, the biggest problem with the skull shape is the dip in the top where the tip of the mouth connects the eye. It was not this pronounced, and was more sloped. Elongating the skull will help fix that. And removing the throat sac since they did not have those. Also, no Tyrannosaur was found with bone spikes on its head.

As it stands, this isn't a T-Rex or even a Large Theropod. The anatomy is closer to an ape that got crossed with a big lizard. Keep up the good shading and coloring work though. I can tell from your other works and your artistic vision here that you're a good spriter.

Probably you will see a full body Velociraptor or Deinonychus(both raptors). By now, I'm finishing the Spinosaurus.

I'll consider everything you all said when I do the new pixelart(and adjust this one).

About the colors, I will use less colors, but not too less, because I want to make it as realistic as possible.

Thank you all!

I think it's a bit too realistic with the colors. I like working with and seeing additive/hue-shifting pallets, and this is straightforward luminance. The transition from the neck to the edge of the piece could be done better.

Other than that I think it's fantastic!

 Neat! I love dinosaurs!

Like manupix, I say you could have used less colors, but most of all I think that you should have used the colors you have to fill the outline too, it would look a lot less pointy.

This said, this remains a beautiful piece!

I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand the drawing precision and anatomy and textures are awesome, but the use of color is far from optimal, as is the shading.

There is no real feeling of a light source, the few highlights (below the eye and on top of the head) should be complemented by stronger highlights / speculars on the nose and forehead, and stronger shadows of down-facing surfaces.

68 colors is a lot, which is not an issue per se but usually indicates a lack of palette management. You have as far as I can tell 7 independent (beautiful) ramps, which are each devoted to a specific area without intermingling. You should try to reuse some of these colors throughout the piece, and twist those ramps (shift hue and saturation) until they share some common colors that you can use to bridge between them. The effort in reducing color count is useful in that it should help you to achieve this.

Finally, the 'selective outlining' would work well with a dark bg, but doesn't really help with transp bg.

absolutely beautiful! honestly don't think you need soo many colors but the anatomy and structure, its got a very nice almost pencil feel to it. great work!

Very nice. Pleasant texturing. Definite lack of depth, though. You could really boost visual impact with a little more light sculpting, bromey.

EdJr:

Valeu.

Ficou lindo, curti muito o estilo do desenho.

Agora as críticas:
