Can't decide what's the best background color for this piece... I've chosen a neutral gray tone, that seems to give the right mood to the image, but I still think that a better solution could be found.

I've created different version of this image. You can take a look at them HERE.

On the second row of this image there are color edits. From left to right: 2 colors, 4 colors (Gameboy palette), 8 colors (vic-20 color palette), 5 colors (single green tone). The last one of the second row is a 7 colors version of the main piece. if you like the piece, tell me what version shown in the link do you prefer (or hate) the most. ;)

I thought this was going to be a styled version of Ren. I was hoping for a Stimpy when I hit the preview even!

2 and 6 are my favs color wise.

can we have puppy play-dates for him and my pixel pug? they can be best friends!

agree with manu that the lighter backgrounds work best, I prefer the neutral tones, such as the grey here or the beige alternate.

nice pixelling here, good use of a limited palette (and what a delightfully goofy little chihuahua!) tag it "8cc" and become an official member of the 8 Color Club!

1st row: works best with the lightest bg (grey, brown, blue).

2nd row: love'm all!
