Again, c64 piece only THIS WOULD NOT WORK IN MCOL MODE ON A REAL MACHINE. It's not proofed for 3+1 colours per tile, probably wouldn't even work in FLI mode. It's an older piece, when me and ptoing were making c64 pics side by side to recapture the 'spirit' of pixel art. So back then we weren't sure how mcol worked. Or we did and I didn't care to proof this manually as usual? Anyway, it's a step down from Mermaid's fabled pirate pic ( specially the sky dithering ) but it ain't bad.

I always find myself returning to this piece in your gallery, don't know why, but I think it's my favorite piece from you. I really love the boat, water and sky. I'd also love to see your EGA adventure entry, I've only seen Ben's of the challenge (I think it is) and really loved that one. 7/7.
I once thought about getting into ZX Spectrum stuff. Then I decided not to. The palette would burn out my eyes, I'm sure. I might give the C64 a try sometime though because I really like to see what you and Ptoing make from it.
Do you happen to have that old EGA adventure game challenge entry for Pixelation around? I'd like to see that one again.
And I really love the sky in this. It reminds me a bit of Van Gogh's Starry Night.
Thanks for the compliment :P I wub the c64. The mcol restrictions are just on the verge of being irritating but still creative. You have to THINK of where you place your pixels again and that really saved my interest in this artform back in the day. And the palette! There's no red, there's no clear colours almost. You have to blend everything. Quite unlike sprite art. You have very few things but such great innovation can be done with them. Ptoing also does a lot of c64 stuff. We taught each other and did proof jobs on each other's pics, which was a great memory. Noko has done some amazing c64 stuff... pHASE1 is one of the current strong ones as far as c64 artwork goes... gas13 is more of an EGA fellow though, but he's cool. Check them out.

once again my comments have come translated the wrong way...what I mean't to say was that you seem to really like using the c64 pallete, and you are basically the only one who uses it here in pixeljoint. And you use it well....now "Chutt" up your mouth, and except the damn compliment..
I'm not unique. Those colours are used by the whole c64 scene. Nothing pot-induced about it :P But thank you for the nice words.

wow, you really like that c64 don't you?....If thats your bag, then go on with it, and keep kickin' pixel ass...Your use of colors are so mind blowing...almost pot-head induced, or even hippie memorabilia or however the hell you spell it...Keep on keepin' on guy, love your uniqueness...
That's the res I'd prefer people to look at this pic, that's all. Or are you refering to the double-width pixels? That's how the c64 likes them, that's all. It's the point. But thanks.
