I'm new to pixel art, and this is one of the first things I'm working on. It's a location from my not-pixel comic, Urban Buzz. I'd like to learn to develop games or something in the future.
I'm very inspired by and derivative of Mother 3 and the Scott Pilgrim game sprite art. I hope as I get more comfortable with pixel art I can get a little more original.

I like the rawness in your work. Things are somewhat irregular in geometry and yet tells so much!

hahnt (Level 2 Quiet One) @ 5/2/2012 12:17

nice look, saw this after the newerwork you posted (the street scene) both have lots of color and style, and both i can very much tell are of scott pilgrim style as well as some touches of mother and such, very nice piece :)

Lovely. It's technically poor but oh so charming. Colours are awesome.

Yuan (Level 1 Rookie) @ 3/19/2011 16:16

 Mother 4 :D

user
Haisook (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/14/2011 10:01

Mother 3 inspiration is evident.

Great work!

Neoriceisgood (Level 2 Quiet One) @ 2/12/2011 12:11

Inspiring, I like how you did this.

KalasMannen (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/12/2011 10:58

Looks great! I like the style!

user
ellie-is (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 2/11/2011 16:42

Awesome. Reminds me of Mother 3 and also Scribblenauts, both in a good way. Great first piece, hope to see more from you.

user
Argyle (Level 6 Manager) @ 2/10/2011 06:47

Was going to say, it reaks of Mother 3 meets Scott Pilgrim in a Scribblenauts level. Very gritty, I like it.

edit: haha, Mentholyptus - it's hella fresh!

user
Po1nd3xter (Level 1 Intern) @ 2/8/2011 11:28

The style instantly reminded my of Mother 3 and maybe Scribblenauts a little bit, too. I like it!

user

The first things? It is a joke?  FAV

Really dig this. Simple and charming.

user
Bauske (Level 4 Deputy) @ 2/7/2011 17:05

This looks awesome. I love the colors, and it definitely reminds me a lot of EarthBound, which is amazing. :D

user
Theoden (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 2/7/2011 16:25

Great job, somehow it reminds me Sam&Max hit the road =)

user
FelipeFS (Level 3 Hatchikyu) @ 2/7/2011 13:49

The style remember the Earthbound' style! Oh that game!

You deserve my fave!

user
Paulo Peres (Level 6 SWAT) @ 2/7/2011 13:34

I liked. The only thing that bothers me is the perspective.

user
KrypToniTe (Level 5 Soldier) @ 2/7/2011 13:30

For a staretr here youre quite, should I say advanced! I agree with the Nintendo DS look, which is great.

Welcome to PJ

I like this stile, is so unique. You can try to develop videogames using a simple program like rpg maker or game maker. Rpg maker is pretty ok if you dont know to program.

Well, good luck with this, i like it.

user
Blueberry_pie (Level 7 General Manager) @ 2/7/2011 12:32

Oh, I like this very much. Hope to see more from you soon. Welcome to PJ :)

TheoVision (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 2/7/2011 12:06

Has a nice NIntendo DS graphix look

user
Eldboll (Level 4 Murderer) @ 2/7/2011 12:00

I agree with yrizoud on the perspective issue of the floor, although I didn't see it until he pointed it out. So no biggie.

I love this, lot's of personality. I'm also a big fan of the Scott Pilgrim game, so this hits right home with me. Just keep doing what your doing, you have something great going on here!

user
yrizoud (Level 6 SWAT) @ 2/7/2011 11:50

It looks busy but charming. I'm pretty sure you are already skilled on paper. I spent a long time before seeing the perspective issue, and now I can't unsee it : The whole store is drawn with a one-point perspective, the vanishing point being somewhere above the left lamp - except the totality of the ground tiles is drawn in oblique perspective.

user
zi-double (Level 9 Necrophiliac) @ 2/7/2011 11:24

Look at very nice... just that wooden door in the middle of the work isn't in right place, but more of details are well done.

user
DeviusQC (Level 2 Corporal) @ 2/7/2011 09:19

That, I like. Reminds me of Earthbound, one of my favourite games of all time!

Edit- Just saw that you are a fan too :), nice job.
