We judge on pixelling skills not design, k.
I would have added both if not for the technical issues.
Just an isometric tile :/ I think it is so simple.
Laziness is my nemesis.
Yeah, for the spaceship I used just a couple of semi-transparent pixels around the edges for AA. I'll remove them and re-up it in the hope I'll get into the gallery.
Thanks, I also use PS all the time at work and pixel while doing other things ;)
Keep at it and use opaque pixels, pick your colors and don't be lazy.
fyi, what you did here IS cool and done in pro pixel work often. Its just that PJ want to showcase pure pixelling as an artform and discourage shortcuts and 'cheats'. Else, the gallery suffers. SOo I'll send this one back.
Did you use tricks on the other art (the white spaceship)?
Ok cool.
When I said I had used layers, I meant semi-transparent layers. I used white and black layers and adjusted the opacity for highlights and shadows. I figured it would just speed things up a bit. I wasn't trying to decieve anybody. Most of my pixeling is done at work when I am supposed to be doing other things. I use Photoshop all day, every day. Using layers in that way just seemed natural. But I know better now and totally understand why some people might be pissed. If you check my favorites it's just yourself and fool (for now). I respect your work and what you have to say so I will do my best to keep it OG in future pieces.
btw that checker thing is sweet.
I am unsure as it has 42 colors which seems high for such a tiny thing.
PJ checker HERE
Pixeljoint always wants pure pixeles and no blurs, brushes or anything where the software is deciding what happens. Layers are cool and makes working much easier but semi-transparent layers are a problem for most in the Pixeljoint gallery. 100% opaque layers is never questioned.
Are you using transparent layers or brushes in your art?
no hard feelings. it's all good.
