i really like the tallness of this peice, really adds to the loneliness that comes with this, also great contrast of warm and cold colors, esspecially seen in the tree.
darth i agree with you but on a closer look it almost looks like the person creates a void (of warm colors) against the trunk of the tree. like a shadow.
when i did a starry background cure had mentioned my start placement looks too uniform, it was good advice and i would like to pass that on to you, how ever i like the top half of stars it just seems to me the ones towards the horizon beocome a little too evenly placed.
keep up the great work!
I thought this was re-make of this (http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/59541.htm) and I was like, 6 months? More like 6 hours ago! Then I realized they weren't from the same person!
I like this! I think (as was mentioned) that the back part (left part if you're looking at the img) of the tree should be affected by the fire-light. It makes it appear to be situated way behind the person but he's sitting on the roots directly connected to it (and those roots have fire-light on them) so it kills the lovely illusion!
Aside from that I really like this.
Thanks guys!
@Exxo: normally I would do more blending of my ramps, but for this one I sorta wanted to maintain a distinction between the cold blue elements and the warm red-oranges (hoping the judges think it's sybolicious).
@Theovision: thanks! preview chang'ed.
The preview does no justice to this piece... You should have made the preview of the campfire section!
I think you should add a little bit of orange on that other tree trunk as well.
Spectacular.
