Haha. Check the interviews on the site. There's one with Syosa. Also a bunch of other awesome pixel artists.
I see xD right now my new immortal god now is Syosa though and since I'm finding a lot of reference and cool artists on the internet to look at I'm getting more input than just robertson x3
gods bless the internets x3
An ass. A jerk. :P
I think he was banned from PJ some time for something he did though I wasn't around to remember what it was.
well Robertson likes gore, so his works are pretty gross xD but I like a lot his animation in the Scott Pilgrim game, so I tried studying them a little. I saw that tutorial a lot of time ago: seeing it back now really is useful.
btw, when you say he's a dick what do you mean? xD
Paul Robertson sucks. :P
Well, not really, but people usually hate him around here, because he's a dick. Who has a thing for drawing dicks too. Its weird.
Also, I'd suggest to keep all walking and run animations at either 4, 8 or 16 frames. Not just because those are the "standard" amount of gifs, but they just seem to work better than everything else.
This tutorial by Manning Krull is pretty interesting too.
I saw it, it's really awesome! But since I was already half done with this studying some Paul Robertson's animations, so I couldn't follow it :/ plus, that tutorial is about a 8 frame cycle, and I had only 6 :V I could jump the recoil fase, though, If I wanted to adapt it at 6 frame animation... I'll use it for my next work.
Welcome, I'm glad to help. You seen this tutorial here?

By applying those steps, you can make walk cycles in any direction, and also change it to create runs and stuff.
thank you for deleting the double post and sorry for the inconvenience >__<''
and thank you for the critics. being my first time doing a walking cycle I got confused and the whole thing came out confused as well. I'll take on all the advices for the next one!
His right leg is great, but the left doesn't seems to move enough. As for his arms, his right arm goes back a lot, but doesn't go to the front enough to match, and on the left arm, it goes a lot to the front, and doesn't go back enough. Drool (I'm guessing its drool) looks more like a piece of string attached to his mouth. And the movement on the tips of the cap seem a little too jagged.
I actually read them, they are so inspiring :3
