"How many maps like this I made .. :)"
Hehe, one man need to do this to know really what it is XD
Yes, in the past I simply no have data about terms like "pillowshading" It was hard days, but it´s true=horrible ^^
haha You really know, the endless resiziming x3x. God save the iPhone-Android, damn =D
How many maps like this I made .. :)
This one looks better then most of mine I guess. I like how everything is a 3d object despite the size and stylisation. The forest etc. ..I see a lot of shading errors there though - horrible pillowshading namely.
And yeah, I also remember the endles resizimg for java mobiles. With iPhone and Android, maybe its behind us finaly.
The water is the only thing I don't like. (surrounding the island.)
It looks rushed. Or, you made it to look like that? I don't know :S.
The rest, I love.
Well, I sincerely like all of them. The first is more realistic, but I think the best style would be something like the sixth, just to combine with the general style.
Thank you a lot, EdJr, can I ask you what kind of water do you like more? ^^
SpaceSalmon, thanks for your crits, are true, but this locations (big bridge, waterfall-volcano...) are all in the original map, and because they´re for a mobile game, I was obliged to make it too bigger. This is my allegation XD
TheManuz, I thought was better to try different styles to use the time work to learn, because I don´t know that is better not change anything in the resolutions, thanks for no bother me ^^.
I´m agree with you, the 2nd but with the lagoon of the 1st and 3rd.
Thanks, when I´ll do the Re-edition (with what I know now) I´ll add your idea of the tiny hero ;)
to much detail, light from the water, stone bridge too big, weird cloud, water coming out of the volcano (and lava), tunnel leading into the top of a tree.. geographically wrong everywhere. just pointing it out.
I like this, i noticed many differences between different resolutions, but i understand that this is an old work, so i won't bother you!
I think the 2nd image is the best, except for the pond under the big tree (best on 1st and 3rd image).
Other than that, this is really cute, and makes me want to wander around this world with a tiny hero!
Jalonso, no problem, I used this to learn Pixel Art in my first work ^^, now I see many many things to change, but I want to upload this, to show a portability and an old work, with the intention to remake this soon (with what I´ve learn in this happy years on Pixel Joint ^^) I hope it´s not a very bad idea...
Preview Updated, thanks for the information ;)
Nice old pieces. Too old to go back but I don't like the water using so many different techniques used all at once...
...anyhooo, PJ preview files that are over 10k will not show in the main page, including new art, the weekly showcase or hall of fame. You don't have to change the preview if you don't want to but know for future art :)
I´m waiting you world map, maybe in C64?
I thought the same Mathias, 82 colors? IMPOSIBLE, only greens, blues, and no more,,, I think its a problem of saving differents screens, I think one individual map of this Pixel don´t have more than 24 colors.
Love seeing scaled versions of pixel art and I love bird'e eye view maps.
I screenshot-stitched together the world map view from Chrono Trigger and had it as my windows bg for quite a while. Once had plans to make my own pixel world map but never got to 'er!
82 colors! Come on now!
I loove furby! Kah toh-loo mee-mee dah! (that's furbish for I like very much!)
