you should do the frames faster when the stroke gets "bigger" and do it slower when it is at the last frame on left and last frame on right.
For me the smear works fine, but I have no way to find out whats the moving object.
But thats more about 'script' of the anim then the style.
I figured it would look like the shading. I was actually trying to do a smear like affect.
So it doesn't work, you think I would have to try a different smearing technique?
I think maybe it would look nicer if you made the shading not flip around. That way it would look more complete IMO.

Or you could simply change the length of a few frames.
It's quite nice but I think the brush doesn't "rest" long enough at the edges, the eyes don't have time to register its normal size.
Yeah, I've learned a lot about timing. This is before I would play around with frame times. : )
