Not so much an optical illusion as an artefact of LCD screens, I'd guess (though I don't know, I'm on a CRT myself.)

The colors are: 2 shades for each color + highlight + BG. That pink pixel that appears when you enlarge it is an optical illusion.

Haha very cool. Only real crit is that the back of his left leg is kinda hard to distinguish from the lower pelvis area. Perhaps darken it just a tad?
