Awesome colors and details. And I agree, without AA looks nicer!
I disagree with Schog. Without AA it looks very retroish now, and I LOVE that!
Always had a weak point for pixely art.
Are you planning on making this into a real game?
This is really nice already, but you could spend some time AAing things (particularly the glass outlines) to make it even better.
And just to be a pedant: it would be nice if you uploaded it zoomed 1:1 instead.
this needs to be made into a Metroid ripoff immediately
Reminds me of Metroid Fusion. This would make a GREAT game map.
jamesmorrow07, to be exactly honest, I haven't seen nor played the game. I agree though that they look really similar. The design isn't all that unique, though; I'm quite sure I've seen the same space dome thing used in a few instances. I think the idea for the dome came from a game where you live in an underwater dome (Clonk Planet).
I take it this is highly referenced from Air Fortress on the NES? Because this station is almost identical to the fortress seen on the game.
Great piece with great colors, by the way.
Reminds me a lot of sega genesis games :D I guess that's the feeling i should have, right?
A nice and interesting look. On the bottom panel with the station - maybe and some highlights on the blue outline?
Jeremy - the palette was chosen by myself, albeit when choosing it I used help from some reference pictures made by Niklas Jansson (www.androidarts.com). I really like the colours so I'm quite sure they'll be used again!
Very nice. Is the palette sourced from somewhere, or did you create it yourself?
Welcome back :f
Oooh, reminds me of the Megaman maps! Great work- and so fast too!
Well, the themes I use usually mature in my head over a longer time, so I didn't have to plan this. I guess most of the fastness is explained with the ultra-low resolution and the overall lack of detail.
But why, thank you!
An hour?! I think I'd spend a couple of hours, most possibly more just on icons alone. Please tell, how do you work so fast? Only shortcut I see is that outline of plan is the same as main flying cities. There was need to come up with themes which takes time too.
Overall looks fantastic.
Guessing this is what started the game on Steam? :O
