Opuladia BUG+FLYING (opulent+radiant)
3' 8''
65 lbs.

Opuladia, the Gemmed Wing pokemon, is known for having wings that glow with blinding light in the sun. Despite their construction of crystal, they are pliant to the touch. It is said that Opuladia fly not by pushing their wings through air, but by flying atop the streams of light themselves. In the night, Opuladia tends to retract its wings and sleep tethered to the bottom of a fallen tree, camouflaged as a chrysalis.

Okay, so it's not original really- and I used WAY too many colors for a fakemon. I can't help it! :<

Agree with epix, missed this the first time through.  Which is a shame, because this is awesome!  One of my new fav's.

Better than any of the new pokemon. The originals and the Johto region ones were the ebst but then the quality started going down. Sugimori should get you to help him :P

This is pretty cool, but I think you should include some of the head/body in the preview.  It's hard to guess what the wing is supposed to be without that for context, and I really wasn't expecting to see something as good as this when I clicked.  The shading on the body looks fantastic.

I think that in this particulare case the number of color is excessive because of it being a fakemon. When you emulate a style you could want to stay in the color/anatomy standards of that style. So this Opuladia has too many color to fit the pokemon standard. I like the free use of colors too, but I find interesting how a pro can be able to make something cool out of a restricted palette (one like 16 colors). I had an hard time working out this week's challenge palette xD.

Anyway this pice is very cute, I love the effect on the membranes and that bandage-like thing :3

There's no need to include a 2x version, the gallery has an inbuilt zoom function.

Anyway, nice pixelwork, it makes me think of an elder thing :o

man this is beautiful, and dont worry about using too many colors, it looks great.

i really dont get why so many ppl hate to use like more then like 16 colors, the yr is 2011 these days we have all these colors at our disposal, why not use them and make something cool and not boring with hardly no color
