A bit too much like the game Okage: Shadow King for me. Otherwise the pixelling is great. The idea is meh as I've seen it.
Thanks Monkey, just changed 1 frame with your suggestions, and it looks a lot better, thanks!
I love the style, first and foremost. I would say that the breathing is a bit choppy. I say add another frame for breathing, maybe an exhale. It just looks like he is inhaling. Also, make his shoulders move up a pixel for uniformity.
thanks for your comments, ok, so I understand why you might think its big...because it is, since I wanna make a great game, I wanna try to make the coolest and biggest sprites I can, and I know that will take me more time, It's a burden I will galdly take if it gets me the result I hope for, and as for big bosses, I'm thinking megaman here, bosses are almost the same sise of the main character, 200x200 pix tops.
The way the chest pops out looks wierd. Also I'd like to see the hair wave a bit more, and his hands maybe shaking a bit back and forth.
...And its really big..
Sorry if I'm a bit rough, but I have a little hard time saying this is pixelart, it looks a bit hurried ( but who am I to talk...),..
I like the sprite - The only problem that I see from it in a Gamedesign sense, is it's size.
with one breathing animation, it's manageable - with more animations for him, it would certainly be a lot of work... but adding different enemies respecting the size of the player character, if you want to have huge bosses, possibly 3-10x the size of the player, you are left with a lot of work even if they don't contain a lot of animation frames.
If the hugeness is intended, and you plan on doing sprites of 640x640 or larger - I wish you good luck, sir.
Big sprites isn't automaticaly better... and I am pretty sure, you will easily get canvas sizes bigger than 200x200 with a few animation, and when animating a game related sprite, the canvas of any frame should be able to display the others ( variable canvas space per animation or frame is not feasable). If you can get your sprites animated well within the 200x200 canvas - more power to you - but I'd guess that your main characters demon shadow will have quite some exagerated movement, and it is already hitting the top of the canvas.
anyway, looks good so far, the one frame change is good too - looking forward to more ;3
