Pretty neat. The dualing monotone color ramps give off an old school feel (look into doing ramp hue-shifting next time)
And yeah . . . colors are outa control. Still 243 actually.
Last time I checked I think I saw sky in this picture. Saved what have left in case this cool piece will progress further.
There are viewers/editors with function "'decrease color depth" (I use Irfan) which decreases said depth to the number of colors you specify, with a bit of easy tuning you can reduce colour count in half and it will not be noticeable. Just be shure to save source file and experiment on it's copy. And not use any automated dithering which program can provide.
I don't see that many colors, but that's ALOT if theres that many. Narrow it down, man!
This is a piece with potential.
I used a lot of colors for the rooster and his powers. That was unnecessary
where are all those colors going? the background alone should take no more than 20. there seem to be tons and tons of near-identical colors.
It looks like I lost control, yes. Actually this is my second try at pixel art, and I didn't really think of a color palette at first. And after posting it, I realized that my sky wasn't drawn pixel by pixel, but was entirely made with photoshop, in a really low resolution.
I revised it and removed the sky. It is now 128 colors, I will try yo post it again :)
Thank you very much !
I kinda want to fav this out of pure awesomeness but I doubt it will get accepted into the gallery. It looks pretty decent but 256 colors !!!!! Color conservation is a big part of pixel art and it seems you lost control of your pallete. As long as your not using ms paint lowering the color count shouldn't be too difficult. Welcome to PJ
The sand is so awsome!, great job :D
