Yeah, I find a really good trick for making different color ramps look unified is to pick an overall shadow color and an overall highlight color and have all the ramps at least tend in that direction. You need a lot more hue variation in your palettes. Have the lower shades tend towards a cool color and the highlights tend towards a warm color, typically yellow (at least for normal materials under lighting conditions).
@Perihelion: I'm not quite good on pixel art painting. Sometimes I still have a tough time deciding the color and saturation. I'll try to improve it more. Thanks for your input :D
Well the HUD animation should be standing on their own, in my opinion. While the other glowing coin-orb icon looks best when they animated by themselves, as an icon. I'll wrap small similar icons in one image later in the future :)
This is definitely cool, but I think your color choice could be more exciting. Your ramps aren't unified; try picking more similar highlight and shadow colors across the different ramps. I really like the animation, though.
Just out of curiosity, why did you upload six separate things when you could have combined them into one piece? The portraits in particular seem redundant next to the transforming HUDs.
@Perihelion: yeah I'll try to do better on my choice of color. Still having a hard time on highlight and shadow coloring...
